Meatloaf Deluxe

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons beef bouillon
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 4-ounce can mushrooms mushroom stems and pieces
  • 1/3 cup bread crumbs dry
  • 1 egg large
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion or 1/4 cup fresh minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

This recipe makes 6 servings.

* Cooking Time: 12 to 13 minutes Power: 100% (700 watts) Standing Time: 5 minutes Place water in a medium microwavable bowl. Microwave, uncovered, at 100% power (700 watts) for 45 to 60 seconds or until boiling. Stir in bouillon granules until dissolved.

Crumble ground beef and place in dissolved granules. Add mushrooms, bread crumbs, egg, 2 tablespoons of the Worcestershire sauce, onion, dry mustard, garlic powder and pepper; mix until blended.

Pat meat mixture evenly into an 8 x 4 x 3-inch microwavable loaf dish; flatten top. Cover with plastic wrap, turning one corner back. Microwave at 100% power for 10 to 11 minutes or until edges are just beginning to brown, draining fat from dish and rotating dish one-fourth turn after 4, 8 and 11 minutes. Re-cover and vent each time.

Brush top of meatloaf with remaining 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. Re-cover and let stand for 5 minutes for easier slicing.
