French Toast
3 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups reconstituted milk
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Dash nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 10 to 12 slices bread
- Fat for frying
In a pie plate combine the eggs and milk. Beat well. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar and beat again. Dip the bread into the egg mixture. Turn to coat both sides of each slice. Fry the French toast until the underside is golden brown. Turn and brown the remaining side. Continue this process until all of the bread has been prepared. Serve with applesauce or apple butter or syrup. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
