Summer Peach Salsa Recipe
Fun fact about South Carolina. We produce more peaches than our neighbors in Georgia – the Peach State. I’m surrounded by peaches right now. They are at the grocery store, at road-side stands, ripening on trees as we drive down the highway. You get the picture. I love peaches. And I love using it in a variety of different ways. This fresh peach salsa recipe is a favorite this summer. I hope you give it a try.
It doesn’t take a lot to make this simple salsa. The only tools you need are a knife, a chopping board, and a bowl. You want your peaches to be ripe, but not too soft.
[zrdn-recipe id=”69″]* If you don’t like cilantro, use chopped parsley instead. It’ll give the salsa that same fresh, herb-flavor. This works for other salsa recipes too.
What To Eat With Peach Salsa
There is a lot you can do with this fresh salsa. You can eat it with tortilla chips. Add it to fish, shrimp, chicken, or even pork tacos. Throw it into a burrito. Or top a simple salad with it. It’s also amazing with grilled fish or chicken.
Make a batch, taste it, and see what you think it goes with. It never lasts long around here in the summer.
How Do I Store This Summer Peach Salsa?
It’s best eaten fresh. If you have some leftover, put it into a container and store it in the fridge for up to five days.
Making Spicy Summer Peach Salsa
To make this salsa spicier, don’t remove all (or any) of the seeds in the jalapeno. Chop it as before and add it, seeds and all, to the peach mixture. Of course, you can also add more than one jalapeno. Play with the recipe and the ratios of peach vs everything else until it’s perfect for you.
Of course, salsa isn’t the only thing you can do with peaches. We love homemade peach ice cream, peach cobblers, and peach pie around here. I recently came across this recipe for fresh peach crumb bars from Saving Dessert that I can’t wait to try.
