Hope-You're-Hungry Mother's Day Oatmeal
- 3 1/2 cups skim milk
- 2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup chopped, unpeeled apple
Boil milk in a saucepan and stir in oats.
Once oats and milk are mixed well add the butter and salt and continue cooking over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove oatmeal from stove and add the maple syrup, raisins, walnuts and apples. Stir to mix well.
Serve with a tablespoon of brown sugar.
