Great question Vicki. There is so much you can do.
I love picking up nice plates throughout the year. You an find them at yard sales, thrift shops and dollar stores. Bake a bunch of cookies and arrange them on a plate.
Ornaments are always a nice idea as well. And yes, you an definitely make all sorts of mason jar mixes. Take your favorite cookie or beverage mix and mix up the dry ingredients. Add a little note with instructions on how to make it.
