Healthy, Wholesome Food From The Slowcooker
I love my crockpot and use it at least once or twice a week. In fact, I’ve gotten into the habit of roasting a chicken in on the weekend and then using the bones to make a great batch of broth (in the same slowcooker). I get two batches of cooking done without having to clean the crock. That’s a win in my book.
I also have written several crockpot cookbooks and get emails about slowcooking all the time. The biggest complaints I hear are that the meals end up being so unhealthy with recipes calling for cream style canned soups and mixes.Along the same lines, people suggest that everything that comes out of a slowcooker tastes more or less the same. While that’s certainly true for a lot of the traditional recipes floating around the interwebs, this method of cooking lends itself to making incredibly tasty healthy dishes.
You just have to look for the right types of recipes. Here are 30 Healthy Crockpot Recipes from MostlyHomemade.com. There are some great ideas and recipes compiled here that are inspiring me to cook more healthy food for my family.
Take a minute to browse through the recipes and pin or bookmark a few that you want to try over the coming weeks. Which one is your favorite?
