Soft Oatmeal Cookies Like Grandmother Made In 1960s

Looking for a soft oatmeal cookie recipe like my grandmother used to make in the 60s.
Her cookies tasted like they had little or no cinnamon, and little or no brown sugar.
She said she thought she just used the recipe on the box, but the recipes provided by Quaker from that time frame still aren't right. (She did use Quaker oats)
3 grand-daughters and several others are trying to replicate these mild flavored, always soft cookies.
