We were watching it rain for the 3rd day in a row (not typical weather here) and it was cold and damp and we were all hungry, so I bought this book. Sounded like a good idea at the time... and it was! I love reading cookbooks, especially when I can find so many recipes to bookmark. The little stories and tips are a nice bonus, too.

I especially liked the recipes that departed from the "Big Three"... egg/sausage/cheese. I'm a big fan of spinach and other veggies, along with lots of spices and herbs, and in this collection there were many recipes featuring these ingredients and others.

I found a few ingredient/direction errors (as the previous reviewer mentioned) but it wasn't enough to slow me down or make me not love the book.

Oh, Yummm! The title explains it all: "35 recipes for Everyday and Special Occasions." I was especially glad to see the Mushroom and Broccoli Breakfast Casserole recipe. It looks as if it will become a favorite in our home! I think it could be varied with different veggies, and a different cheese. The possibilities are almost endless!

I am glad I purchased this collection of recipes. However, she really needs to proofread before publishing. There are recipes that have items that are not listed in the ingredients section that are added later in the directions. You must just figure out on your own how much of that ingredient goes into the recipe.

As I live along(age 70), I don't do extensive cooking, but this cookbook will be great for a brunch, or when one has company for breakfast, or out of town visitors. Would recommend the Hillbilly Housewife cookbooks - she does and excellent job, and shares her knowledge and recipes.

Some of the recipes weren't to my taste but I got lots of ideas. Can't beat the price. I was inspired to get out my mom's recipe from the 1950's for an egg casserole with cheese and green chilies. I also have the Dump Cake book. Some of them are hits at church dinners while some have received raised eyebrows! It's all in what you like.

That said, I am a writer and all I can gather is "Hillbilly Housewife" is a code for "I can barely write a full sentence". I'm sure she's a great homemaker and cook, her books are full of good, solid ideas. I certainly give her credit for putting these books together for sale on Amazon. But the spelling, grammar and attention to details like consistency for measurements, etc. is shockingly poor. Maybe the daughter she mentions is in 3rd or 4th grade and does this for her.

This has a variety of breakfast casseroles so if your looking for a filling, tasty breakfast then pick a recipe from this ebook. One of my favorites is the Cheese Grits Breakfast Casserole but there are so many good recipes it is hard to choose.

I have to come to expect recipes I've never tried or seen before when I buy The Hillbilly Housewife's cookbooks, and this has been no different. I grew up with just one breakfast casserole recipe that my mom made every Christmas morning... fabulous, except my husband doesn't like it! I was excited to see so many new options, and I love the idea of preparing breakfast the day before - we're not exactly morning people, so being able to just pop a dish into the oven is a great time-saver for us. I haven't actually made any of them yet, but I've read through it, know I'm going to love the recipes, and the biggest challenge will be trying to pick just one to start!
